K: Mel called this evening about it. He's bringing it with him to
the NSC

No, he doesn't want any. He thinks it's politically very
dangerous right now
P: On what grounds?
K: He thinks it will look like an act of desperation.
P: Could be
K: Well, I'm sure if it weren't that argument he'd find another
one, because xlxxxx this fellow Purebly is dead set against it, but we are not
in that much of a hurry. We can wait a few days.
P: No, we can do it next week.
K: That's right.
