PAGE THREE DINNER HONORING DUKE ELLINGTON CINTINUED: THE PRESIDENT: At approximately 10:20 P. m. you will enter the East Room where your other guests will have already been seated. You will make brief welcoming remarks and then present Dake Ellington with the first Presidential Medal of Freedom of your Presidency. The Medal will be inscribed with the recipient's name and the date. It is recommended that you also read the Citation that accompanies the Medal. NOTE: Suggested remarks are attached. The Citation will be presented to you by your military aide at the appropriate moment. A single stand-up microphone will be provided for your use. There will be pool press coverage as well as a special filming and recording for the United States Information Agency. Musical Entertainment will be provided by the following performers and will be of approximately one hour's duration: Mr. Gerry Mulligan Mr. Paul Desmond Mr. Clark Terry Mr. J. J. Johnson
