He feels that very few first rate intellectuals will write for political journals and this is complicated by the fact that there are not a great number of Republican intellectuals. He suggests that Evans talk with Bill Baroody about this whole subject. Additionally, Martin suggested that we plan to have five to ten intellectuals testify before our platform hearings. His final suggestion was that the RNC buy copies of intellectual journals which contain certain articles favorable to our point of view and distribute them. He feels that the purchase of a few thousand copies can make a difference between success and failure of some of these publications.
