In addition, she says the is always sending all kinds of health foods here to Bob Haldeman. October 5, 1971 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: BRUCE KEHRLI FROM: L. HIGBY SUBJECT: Things to Follow-up on Please follow-up on the situation of letting H know what the situation is on the Interior Department Horses and the purchasing of a car through the Credit Union, etc. LH:kb October 28, 1971 Dear Bill: My heartiest congratulations on your new job! Needless to say, the Republican National Committee will miss your service. Best wishes for the future. Sincerely, Lawrence M. Higby Administrative Assistant to H.R. Haldeman Mr. Bill Low PROFESSIONAL POLITICAL SERVICES Suite 706 1225 19th Street, N.W. Washington, D. C. 20036 LH:kb October 12, 1971 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: PAT MC KEE FROM: L. HIGBY As I think I explained to you, Ehrlichman needs to meet with Haldeman on the Campaign Platform Issue. Check Ken Cole's office for details, but it will be worked out. LH:kb October 5, 1971 MEMORANDUM FOR: PAT MC KEE FROM: L L.HIGBY We need to do a note to Frank Leonard on the great job he did on this week's MONDAY. Also, we need to do a note to Nofziger indicating that we thought this week's MONDAY was really good, but can't we do something about the cover to make it look like it's not a funeral piece. LH:kb October 28, 1971 Dear Bill: I received the announcement of your new appointment to JACKSON, NASH, BROPHY, BARRINGER & BROOKS Law Firm. Congratulations and best wishes. Sincerely, Lawrence M. Higby Administrative Assistant to H.R. Haldeman Mr. William J. O'Hara JACKSON, NASH, BROPHY BARRINGER & BROOKS Attorneys at Law 330 Madison Avenue New York, N.Y. 10017 LH:kb October 7. 1971 Mr. Brad Reardon Labor Department - Room 3112 This is the last document to be received by Miss Alcala. Is there anything we should do with it or just wait until we hear from State Department? You will note one of the things that is requested is a Social Security Number. Miss Alcala does not have a Social Security Number as she is not a citizen. Your guidance would be appreciated. Sincerely, Lawrence M. Higby Mr. Brad Reardon LABOR DEPARTMENT Room 3112 Washington, D.C. Attachments LH:pm 183 October 22, 1971 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: GORDON STRACHAN FROM: L. HIGBY With regard to the proposed poll, Bob wants to wait a little bit and have you reise this again. He thinks It is a bit premature at the moment. When we do it, he wants to do just n political poll and aqueese everything out of it that is possible; L.e., personality, trial heats, etc. LH:kb October 12, 1971 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: BORDON STRACHAN FROM: L. HIGBY SUBJECT: Advertising Situation With regard to your attached memorandum, Bob made the following points: 1, He may see Teeter. He would like to see the background information on him which, of course, we have available. 2. He is not particularly interested in seeing either Dailey or Richard O'Reilly. He feels that Dailey would be good; he knows Dailey's skills and ability. He would know how to put the whole thing together, but is not particularly talented from a creative standpoint. 3. With regard to Richard O'Reilly, before he will give the okay here, it must be proven to him that he is loyal and for us. He probably would be better than Dailey, since he has been in New York for years and basically knows the New York scene, The Wells, Rich and Green Agency has pirated people from everyone else, so he must know where the good people are, The problem Haldeman feels, however, is that anybody who moves to Wells would probably not be for us. He is also concerned with the fact that if anybody like O'Reilly still has a tie to Lawrence, we are in serious trouble, since Lawrence (Wells' husband) is also one of the major contributors and a moving force in the Democratic party. 4. In short, Haldeman is far from convinced that O'Reilly is anywhere near our side and probably some sophisticated investiga- tion should be done here before he is seriously considered. This is, of course, not just a standard FBI sort of investigation. This is where Haldeman stands on the advertising situation. Attachment LH:kb October 5, 1971 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: GORDON STRACHAN FROM: L. HIGBY SUBJECT: Polling Situation May I please have a complete up-to-the-minute brief of where the polling situation stands with regard to the Campaign. I have a feeling that we are moving here without anybody who knows what is really happening and really being on top of them. Let's get something in as soon as possible. LH:kb October 5, 1971 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: GORDON STRACHAN FROM: L. HIGBY SUBJECT: Convention Task Force One of the key people who should be working on the Convention Task Force, and this is something that you need to handle subtlyy, is John Ehrlichman. He doesn't really have anything to do right now with regard to it to my knowledge and it is an excellent way to use his abilities since he obviously played a major role in '68 in this area. LH:kb
