MEMORANDUM FOR :
CHUCK COLSON
FROM :
H.R. HALDEMAN H
We need some more effective action than that which
is being taken by Dole in terms of whacking the Democrats
for partisanship in foreign affairs. Dole is the only
one carrying this attack that's getting any mileage.
Somehow there ought to be a way for others to be able
to do so too.
The Democrats used to do a very effective job of killing
any Republican who dared to raise his head in opposition
to the Administration in regard to foreign affairs. We,
on the other hand, sit back and let them swing at us any
way they want to.
What happened to our organization of 'hardcore friends'
on the Hill and in the business community and the governors
who were going to carry some of the load?
