THE PRESIDENT:
BACKGROUND
A signing ceremony has been arranged in the Cabinet Room for the
Urban Mass Transportation Assistance Act of 1970. Present at the
ceremony will be representatives from the Department of Transporta-
tion, Members of the House and Senate, representatives from
municipal government groups, and representatives from industry.
SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
11:45 a. m.
The approximately 45 guests will be assembled
along the length of the table behind your chair in
the Cabinet Room (a list of attendees is attached
at Tab A).
You enter and proceed directly to your chair at the
Cabinet table. You sign into law the Urban Mass
Transportation Assistance Act of 1970.
You may wish to make some brief comments
relating to this Bill (suggested remarks at Tab B).
Presidential signing pens will be available to
present to your guests.
11:55 a.m.
Signing ceremony concludes.
You return to your office.
