THE PRESIDENT HAS seen dg. (Stein/NSC)DG June 7, 1974 SUGGESTED TOAST: DINNER IN JORDAN HOSTED BY KING HUSSEIN Your Majesty, honored guests: This is my first visit to Jordan, but I feel very much at home in your country, among friends with whom I share a profound sense of understanding, sympathy and confidence. * * * I would offer three toasts this evening. The first is to Your Majesty. Your Majesty has visited the United States many times; in fact, I have had the pleasure of meeting with you more often than any other leader. In the fifteen years of our personal acquaintance, Your Majesty has proved to be not only a great and courageous world statesman but also a strong personal friend. Your Majesty's grandfather, King Abdullah, once said that "the most important thing in life is to have the determination to work, to do your very best, regardless of all the setbacks 11 In your struggle to bring peace and progress to Jordan, Your Majesty has shown that determination over and over again. * * *
