Sloan testimony and concern over the legality of the "secret fund" plus
these solicited male and female "agents" all over the country - - to keep
the story perking.
While the Eastern media especially Times, Post and nets ride this hard - - - -
it would seem that the best defense on this is a good offense -- to carry
the attack to McGovern on those issues, all of them but Watergate, where
his is vulnerable and we are not. From his shouting denunciations
Shriver demonstrates that our attack ads have gotten to him, that the
Connally speech stung them - - and the re-generation of the entire attack
apparatus would seem the proper response to their last hurrah.
