ABC/NBC also w/film from New Mexico where search will continue thru Sun. for 5-7 year old boy seemingly trapped in wrecked truck w/dead father. Suspicions of hoax prevail. -- Israeli warplanes intercepted a Lebanese civilian airliner over Jordan, forced it to land in Israel and, after apparently unsuccessful search for guerrillas, released it 2 hours later for flight to Iraq. Led ABC. (#3 NBC and #8 CBS where it was followed by lengthy Kalb look at increasing pressures and possible hints of Admin. response for US to modify Mideast policy given need for Arab oil.) HKS called Israeli action "something new and ominous. 11 1st time Israel has taken control of Arab civilian airliner. AP calls it "stunningly unexpected switch" in policy. Film on all nets as Laird admitted he approved "separate reporting system" in '69 to keep Cambodian strikes secret, but denied falsifying any documents. "Linguistic gymnastics, 11 Utley called Laird's responses on NBC. All nets noted continued raids w/4 days to go. On ABC film, Laird said there'l be no circumventing of halt and RN won't bomb unless he 1st gets Hill ok. -- "Target date' of RN response to W'gate charges is Tuesday, ABC reported.
