But net film reports emphasized truckers waiting out strike at Indiana, Kansas City, N.J., and Atlanta truck stops are confused and remain unconvinced w/some insisting trucks won't roll til price roll-back is approved. ABC/NBC noted scattered incidents of violence. Fewer, said Chancellor, as NBC/CBS noted WH preparing interagency contingency plan to assure highways remain open. DOD involved in planning but its role wasn't specified. ABC/NBC had 10-12 minutes of energy-related news (CBS 5-1/2 min.) focusing on ramifications of truck strike effects on small towns in W. Va. & and Ky., "spectacularly higher" (NBC) prices of produce in past week. ABC/CBS noted Simon's urging regional plans for gas distribution. ABC w/film on Westport, Conn. effort to solve its own gas distribution problem.
