"Growing fear thruout Bay Area that Patricia Hearst is dead, "
says Slagle of NY News. "One thing's sure: Virtually no one is

CBS also
noted none of her friends believe she's switched to SLA. They feel
statement was forced or she's dead. W/Hearsts off to Mexico for
10 days and not expecting to hear anything, bizarre case takes grim
pause w/as many mysteries as when it began.
Saxbe on CBS said
when people are in Hearst's situation, they don't listen to advice,
ie, the AG's urgings not to deal w/SLA. He noted he's ordered
family and office not to pay ransom for him if he's kidnapped.
NYC's tough rare law has been growling just over 7 months now.
So far, it's proven to be a rather tame breede, 11 says NY News
noting the "trickle of sentences" based on the law. But prosecutors
feel there '11 be tougher punishments in weeks ahead.

influenced by TVs it ranks "next to parents -- far aheadkof school
and church.
It has produced a generation of children who've
declining grasp of English language but also have a visual sophisti-
cation denied their parents. They learn SO much about world that
appeals immediately to their emotions, but I'm not sure it involves
their intelligence, their judgment. 11 He also said "TV can trigger
fashions whether in 'streaking' or in kidnaping. And sick or
defeated really insane people have been given, thru TV, the
imagination to plan or contemplate violent acts. 11 He praised net
news coverage: "A better job than any other system" and said TV
has lived up to its cultural promise "wonderfully well. 11
47-44 support in Gallup for abortions during 1st 3 months. Similar
to '72 poll pre-Court ruling.
