Dear Mr. Alevy:
This is just a note to tell you how much I appre-
ciated your thoughtful letter of May 14 to Walt Disney Produc-
tions, who forwarded it to me.
Although, as you know, the trip had its difficult
moments, the lasting impression Mrs. Nixon and I will always
have of our visit to Latin America is the warm and friendly
manner in which we were received by the great majority of the
people in each of the countries we visited.
I only hope that the end result of the incident in
Caracas will be an increased awareness in both the United
States and Latin America of the determination and ruthless-
ness of those who instigated the riots, and a strengthening of
the economic, political and cultural ties between this country
and our valued friends and neighbors to the South.
Mrs. Nixon joins me in extending our very best
wishes to you.
Sincerely,
Richard Nixon
Mr. M. Alevy
