November 8, 1961
Dear Bobby:
As I looked at my desk calendar this
morning, it seemed hardly possible that a year
had gone by since our campaign of 1960 came to
a close.
I would not want this day to pass with-
out taking the opportunity to tell you again
how deeply grateful I am for all that you did
for our cause, No candidate for the Presidency
could have had a more dedicated and loyal group
of supporters.
Pat joins me in sending our best wishes,
Sincerely,
DN

Dear Bobby:
I noticed in the paper the other day that
Jones, Bobby
you are having to spend some time in the hos-
pital. I was sorry to have this news and I hope
you will be feeling much better soon.
From all reports you have been having
excellent golfing weather down Atlanta way re-
cently. Since this is the week of the Congressional
Recess, I wish you would send some of that good
weather up this way. I would certainly take ad-
vantage of it and get out on the course again!
With best wishes for a rapid and a
complete recovery,
Cordially,
Pi X
DNN.

His physician said the famous
S
golfer was doing fine, but would
r
be kept under observation at
Pj
Emory Hospital for a few days.
"We are presuming that he
4/2/58
may have had a minor heart
attack until proved otherwise,"
the physician said.
Jones, 56, suffered what was

described an a circulatory col-
lapse shortly before midnight
last night at his home. His
blood pressure dropped but
there was no pain, the doctor
