November 8, 1961 Dear Bobby: As I looked at my desk calendar this morning, it seemed hardly possible that a year had gone by since our campaign of 1960 came to a close. I would not want this day to pass with- out taking the opportunity to tell you again how deeply grateful I am for all that you did for our cause, No candidate for the Presidency could have had a more dedicated and loyal group of supporters. "We are presuming that he 4/2/58 may have had a minor heart attack until proved otherwise," the physician said. Jones, 56, suffered what was ; described an a circulatory col- lapse shortly before midnight last night at his home. His blood pressure dropped but there was no pain, the doctor said.
