Dear Mendel:
Even though you have already re-
ceived our formal acknowledgment of appreci-
ation of your letter of November 8, I did want
to avail myself of this delayed opportunity to
thank you personally for your thoughtfulness.
Your warm expression of support
and confidence is greatly appreciated. It is with
deep gratification that I look forward to the honor
of again serving with President Eisenhower.
I am glad to hear that you enjoyed
the telecast from Cornel. That was an interest-
ing meeting for me, too. Those young people were
really on their toes. They asked some very tough,
but yet pertinent questions. I was happy to have the
opportunity to appear.
