WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS
2400 WEST ALAMEDA AVE.
BURBANK, CALIFORNIA
CABLE ADDRESS: DISNEY
July 25, 1956
The Vice President
Mr. Richard M. Nixon
Senate Office Building
Washington 25, D. C.
Dear Mr. Nixon -
Enclosed is copy of a letter which I am sending to
Mr. Leonard Hall today.
I do hope you can find time to give our young report-
ers the interview they seek. You will be talking to
a high percentage of the children of America --
tomorrow's citizens and voters.
I think the youngsters have a very challenging ques-
tion for you: "When I Grow Up, Mr. Nixon, Why
Should I Be a Republican?"
As to your reply, I can say only this: I think it will
be most powerful if you confine it to three sentences
or less. I realize such a reply is much more diffi-
cult than three paragraphs, but I do think the results
will be worth the effort.
Our crew will be in San Francisco the week before
the convention as well as during the convention. If
your program permits, we can set up the interview
much more expeditiously before the convention goes
into session.

Saled Sincerely,
OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
Walt Disney
