My dear Mr. President:
All the members of the Kennedy family
and I wish to extend our sincere thanks to
you for designating Thanksgiving as a day of
remembrance for my late son, President
Kennedy.
your eloquent words of the Proclamation
in which you expressed the ideals which Jack
inspired and the brilliance of his leadership,
moved our hearts deeply. I shall keep the
ceremonial copy of the 1973 Thanksgiving Day
Proclamation in the house where he was born so
that future generations may remember him as
they pray to God on Thanksgiving Day.
