OVAL OFFICE
12:15 to 1:00
FROM: JAMES S. ROSEBUSH
I. PURPOSE
To tape your participation in a television special produced by
A. C. Lyles to be aired on NBC this Spring.
II. BACKGROUND
This hour long special is based on actual letters written to you
by children all across the country. They have expressed interest
in seeing Washington and understanding better how government works.
In your conversation with the six young people, you will make ref-
erence to other areas of government that, during the hour long show,
the children will visit.
III. PARTICIPANTS
Six children ranging in age from ten to twelve.
IV. PRESS PLAN
No Press coverage.
V. SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
Following your radio talk, the Oval Office will be lighted for the
production. You will talk briefly with A. C. Lyles and meet the
children. The taping actually begins when Kathy Osborne brings
the young people into the office and asks them to introduce them-
selves to you. You invite them to the couch to sit down and the
children will then begin asking the questions indicated in your
prepared remarks. The taping session will conclude following your
Q and A with the children.
