SUBJECT: Request for Bud McEarlane to Address Greek-American
Leaders, June 20
Pat, the most senior members of the Greek-American leadership
will be in Washington next week for meetings with government
officials. We are hosting a senior level briefing for them in
Room 474 from 2 - 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20. The group will
include George Christopher, the former mayor of San Francisco,
Archbishop Iakovos, head of the Greek Orthodox Church in the U.S.
and Cleo Zambetis, President of AHEPA.
I have worked with my NSC counterpart who has sent forward a
recommendation that Bud McFarlane address this very distinguished
group. He has suggested that, in addition, it would be useful if
you could mention the meeting to Bud informally, urging his
participation.
I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
