Such information as we are possessed of goes to show
that every person who has been in contact with luminous material
in application worl for a period of one year or more, should, as a
precautionary measure, be subjected to treatment even though there
is no clinical evidence of infection or physical depression.
There is some evidence to support the opinion that the affection
can be eliminated if it has not proceeded too far, with destruction
of bone and bone marrow.
There is one typically hopeless case under treatment
at St. Mary's Hospital with Dr. Earrison Martland in charge of the
case. It may be that one or more of such cases has developed
among your former employees and that the treatment is more or less
baffling to your physician. In such event, it might be well for
him to confer with Dr. Martland and Dr. Jos. P. P. Knef of Newark:
the latter has done much work on the gums of such cases.
We are sending you this information because of our
general interest in the subject of end special interest in
the subject of radioactive luminous materials and their hazards.
We trust that it may prove of some slight interest to
your officers, or your consulting physician.
Very truly yours,
GENERAE RADIUM CORPORATION
