STATK or NEW JERSEY : : SS: COUNTY OF ESSEX # GRACE FRYER, of full age, being duly sworn age gording to lan on her onth deposes and saya: lo I em the complainant in the faregoing bill of complaint named. I have rond the same and I an familiar with the contents thercof, and the matters and things therein set forth are true. 2.e I reside at 1497 Tromont Avonuo, Orange, New Jersey. 3. I worked at the Orange plant or the United States Radium Corporation from about April 10, 1917, until about Ohristmas time in 1020, working fivo and ono-half days on a normal weak banis. It was my duty to mix a paste from a powder, water and othor materials, which wore fumished to mo by my employer, and apply the paste thus mixed, by means of a small qumel's hair trush to the numerala on the dials of watohes. In painting the dials, I used to point the brush wi th my lips, as I was taught to do whon I first came to the Company, the pointing or the bzuch by the lipa being a neg- ossary operation. It was customary among all my 00-Workers at the plant, to so point the brunh with their lips and in faot, vory little work gould be accomplithed without so do- ing. The powäer which I mixed with warder to form the paste above mentioned, was very light, and the aix in the work room was laden with it, a.a I know, because nasal discharges on my handkorchied used to be luminous in the darkte This was wise true of my olothing and parts of my body. 4. I was nover warned in any waye while an em- ployee of the United States Radium Corporation, that the sub- stances, which I was handling were in any way dangerous.
