in his practice about Morristown.
17. That Dr. Sabin A. Von Sochocky, a stockholder of
in
the United States Radium Corporation from 1917 to 1922 and Presi-

dent of the United States Radium Corporation from 1919 to January
1922, knew of the dangerous nature of radioactive substances and
knew that the injury to the complainants would occur, if the com-
plainants painted said dials as they were instructed with the said
water soluble paste, and the said Dr. Sabin A. Von Sochocky en-
deavored to restrain certain members of the corporation, without
avail, from allowing complainants and co-workers to continue the
use of said paste.
18.
That those engaged in the laboratories of the
United States Radium Corporation used lead screens, masks and
tongs as precautionary measures to protect said laboratory workers
who were handling radium in the laboratories of the United States
Radium Corporation; but those controlling said United States
Radium Corporation at the time complainants were employed from
1917 to 1921, in no way screened, protected, or warned the dial
painters or instructed them as to the nature of the substances
that they were employed to use, but allowed them to be exposed
without protection to radioactive substances which the officers
and agents in control of the corporation knew to be harmful.
19. That complainants were employed as dial paint ers
at the plant of the United States Radium Corporation in Orange,
New Jersey, at approximately the following periods:
Miss Grace Fryer--From April 10,1917 to January 24,1920.
Miss Katherine Schaub- ** - From April 1917 to July 1920 and
from November 20,1920 to June 1,1921.
Mrs. Quinta McDonald--] From March 1,1917 to March 1, 1919.
Mrs.Albina Larice--Fror August 1,1917 to June 5, 1919.
Mrs.Edna Hussman--From - June 1,1917 to February 1, 1922.
