MATERIAL CORPS
My dear Mr. Lee:
This department is anxious to get in touch with all
plants in Pennsylvania using radio-active luminous com-
pounds. Our purpose in so doing is to take up with each
individual planning the precaution that should be observed
in the handling of this material.
It is rather difficult for us to know what plants
are doing the type of work that calls for the use of this
substance. I am therefore writing you to ask if we may
have the of customers in Pennsylvania supplied by your
company. I should also be glad to learn whether you are
using in your luminous compounds thorium or meso-thorium.
You will recall that about two years ago you wrote
me advising what measures you recommended for the pro-
tection of workers using these compounds.
Mr. C. B. Lee, President
-2-
August 6, 1928.
In view of the help you so generously gave us at that
time I am again coming to you for assistance in this matter.
Very truly yours
Elyabeth B. Bricker,
Elizabeth B. Bricker, M. D.
Chief, Hygiene and Sanitation
EBB/C
Section.
