Mr. H. H. Barker,
U. S. Radium Corporation,
535 Pearl Street,
New York, N. Y.
My dear Barker:
I have received your letter and check in
payment of my work in Europe.
I would have been glad to reduce my charges
in connection with this work if it had been possible for me
to do the work as an incidental matter in connection with
a trip to Berlin which we would otherwise have taken.
Instead of this my going to Berlin actually prevented me from
going to Strasbourg to attend the annual meeting of the
French Societe Industrielle which was one of my objects in
going to Europe. This was the only time when I could make
connections to Berlin.
I will keep in touch with the people in
question and try and get some more information from them.
Of course, there will be no charge for anything additional
that I may obtain.
I suppose Schlundt has left you and I am
quite disappointed that he did not arrange to stop at Purdue
on his way home.
With kind regards,
Sincererly yours,
remin one
