BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS
WASHINGTON
Waterbury, Conn., Dec. 12, 1928.
Mr. C.B. Lee, Pres. U.S. Radium Corp.,
535 church St., New York, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Lee:
J had intended to call you up before left New York, but
have just discovered that overlooked to doso. As J had men_
tioned among my plans, called on Dr. Craver, at the Memorial
Hospital to obtain possible information on the five cases in charge
of the committee. He suggested consulting Dr. Ewing on the subject.
We talked it over, and Dr. Ewing said that, while he personally
could see no reason why the U.S. Government should not be furnish
ed with a copy of the report, he believed it wiser to obtain the
permission from the attorneys on both sides and from Dr. Krumb_
haar, before promising such action, or giving any information.
He offered to write to Dr. Krumbhaar, and J told him that
would get in touch with you, as did not know your attorney,
and also with Potterand Berry. J also told him J did not anti-
cipate any difficulty from either side.
Passing through Newark J called Mr. Berry on the phone,
but did not find him in, so just left a message forhim, stating
what J was after. J had figured on calling you
when returned to New York but, as stated before,
J slipped up on that proposition.
do not expect, however, that the report is fin-
ished yet, and from what Dr. Ewing stated. it may
take some time before it is. J have, of course, no
idea what form the report will be in, but it LOOKS to
me as if the unbiased opinion of three prominent
and expert physicians would be a valuable addition
to our investigation, 50 hope there will be no of-
jection on the part of the U.S. Radium Corp., or
your altorney, to the committee furnishing us a
copy of it. Up to date have not heard from Dr.
Ewing on the subject.
Thanking you for previous courtesies, and
with best personal regards,
Sincerely yours
. . skjaer.
