Dear Mr. Smith:
I am herewith enclosing copy of a letter
addressed to Dr. Martland, which I have proposed as a
reply to his two articles occurring in recent issues of
the Journal of the A.M.A.
I handed Er. Markley a copy of this letter
on Tuesday at the City Hospital in Newark. In discussing
the matter with you and =arkley it was agreed that we
should not disclose to Dr. Martland the information contain-
ed in this letter.
The letter will serve as a means of inform-
ing you as to the mis-statements in Dr. Martland's article.
