CORNELL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL COLLEGE
FIRST AVENUE AND 28TH STREET
NEW YORK CITY
MAY 4 1929
May 3, , 1929.
Mr. H.H. Barker,
United States Radium Corp.,
535 Pearl Street,
New York City.
My dear Mr. Barker:
There are various inaccuracies in the bills
sent by Dr. Humphries. You gain this much in the duplicate
bill, that the services include April 9th, whereas in the other
they ran to January 26th. I do not see how I can contest the
bill, but I think you might well do so. As chairman, I can
only approve in general of Dr. Humphries services.
The situation reveals how unsatisfactory the
present arrangement is. I have taken up with Dr. Krumbhaar the
matter of changing our relations with these patients, but he has
not yet replied. Dr. Humphries tells me that Mrs. MacDonald is
suffering some acute exacerbation and I authorized him to put
her in the Orange Hospital.
I will discuss with Dr. Craver the plan of
having any further hospital treatment carried out in New York
under his supervisi on where we can be sure that the charges are
proper.
Sincerely yours,
James Ewing.
