Mr. R. B. Moore,
Purdue University,
Lafayette, Ind.
Dear Dr. Moore:
Mrs. Barker and I are sailing on
June 23th, for a few wecks vacation in Europe. We
expect to be in Paris during the first part of August
and, I would very much like to have the pleasure of a
short visit with Madam Curie.
I understand that the number of visitors
wishing to see Madam Curie is large and, for this
reason she has found it necessary to refuse to interview any
except those with whom she may have an engagement. I an,
therefore, wondering if a letter or note from you, which
I might carry to Madam Curie, or a letter from you directly
to Madam Curie, would enable ne to see her in the event
that she is in Paria while I am there. If this is not ask-
ing too much and you think it advisable, I assure you that
I will appreciate your assistance.
We are looking forward to our trip with
considerable anticipation, for it is the first time that
either one of us has been across.
With kind regards to Mrs. Moore and yourself,
I am
Sincerely yours,
HHBarker: RH
