March 1st, 1930. Dr. R. B. Moore, Purdue University, Lafayette, Ind. Dear Dr. Moore: Answering your note of February 26th: I imagine that Mr. Berry will require the first two or three days, of the week of March 10th, at least to present his side of the case of Canfield VS United States Radium Corp., and that we will not need your services or Drs. Schlundt's or Lind's before Wednesday or probably Thursday March 12th or 13th. I am sure that you will be perfectly safe in planning on not to arrive in New York prior to March 12th, and I will be glad to wire you a day in advance of when we will expect to need you. This I realize will probably not be the most satisfactory to you, but you will appreciate that it is impossible for us to set a definite date upon which your testimony could be taken. Dr. Lind I believe is planning on being here Thursday March 13th. In the meantime I am glad to advise you that we are engaged in trying to arrive at a means whereby these cases can be settled out of court, and while there has been no definite decision reached, still we are hopeful that we can avoid going to trial. I shall advise you at once if anything in this direction materializes. With kind regards, I am Sincerely yours, HHBarker:RH Vice President.
