COPY October 8th,1930. Mr. C. H. Granger, Waterbury Clock Co., Waterbury, Conn. Dear Mr. Granger: I read your letter of October 4th, concerning the pecent survey with a great deal of interest. I also received a letter from Mr. Dudley Ingraham this morning along the same lines, a copy of which he has sent you and Mr. English. It seems to me that we are in rather an awkward position because the Government crowd have not made any report or given us definite data. My information is not official and until we get some such report, I do not see how we can approach them for a discussion. Dr. Thompson knows my feelings in the matter and my criticisms because I sent him a copy of my letter to Dr. Schlundt which he has not acknow- ledged yet. Wouldn't it be a good idea to ask Dr. Thompson to send you a preliminary copy of the re ort when it is completed so that the clock companies can discuss it and make any suggestions they may deem necessary? In the meantime I am collecting all of my data on the girls showing my past results so as to be ready for them. Of course, I will be guided by your judgment in the matter, but I am willing to back up my opinion and conclusions. What I am afraid is that the Government may make some statement that will give the agitators a chance to get into headlines again: dnd stir things up. Very truly yours, Frederick B. Flinn
