Dear Parsons:
A
You will regret to learn of the very serious condition of
our old friend R. B. Moore. He was taken to Rocheste) a week
ago today for general examination presunably with reference to
hyperacidity. His condition bedame rapidly worse after arrival
there, and they have diagnosed hãs ailment as a tumor of the
brain with every indication that it is of the rapidly progress-
ing, infiltrative type for which there As no alleviation. We
drove down yesterday to see him and Mys. Moore. We found him
in a state of complete coma. He had been unconscious since
Friday and the doctors very little hope of any improvement.
They advise operation on the very slight chance that their diag-
nosis may be incorrect. Mrs. Modre is considering radiation if
she can get any encouragement from DV. Burnham or anyone at the
Memorial Hospital in New York I doubt very much if it is feasé
ible, and have aqually little faith in the operation after talk-
ing with Ms phy ician et Rochlester.
He Idoks quite well. but all the symptoms are against his
recovery, and I think we must be prepared for the worst in a very
short time.
