Gentlemen:-
I have delayed answering your letter
of the 20th ult., because it was necessary, before submitting
you an offer, to go over the case with Mr. La Porte, and
some of the physicians and other persons concerned in the
case.
I am now authorized to submit an
offer of $20,000 and no less, .
Will you please no take this matter
up with Mr. Barker and let me hear from you promptly
whether or not it will be paid.
