Dr. Herman Schlundt,
University of Missouri,
Columbia, Mo.
Dear Dr. Schlundt:
I expect to be absent from the office for
approximetely tiro wecks, starting tomorrow, but will probably be
in South Orange the greater part of the time, and if for any reason
you desire to reach me during this period, would suggest you
address your communications to my home.

The matter of/efficacy of waters charged with radon
seems to be rather active in the sphere in which I have been moving
recently. As you know, our friend lir. Ven Wolkenten is the prime
mover along this line, and seems to be making some progress, although
I do not know how well grounded this progress mey be.
I presume that lir. Van Wolkenten has or will shortly

Germany, and that it is institutions of this type which Dr. Flinn will
visit while abroad. He is sailing on August 5th, on either the Europa
or
Bremmmen. It is my deduction that thin trip is being sponsored in
behalf of interesting Americans to travel abroad and visit these
radium spas. Due to the unfavorable publicity given radium in this
country in the past few years, there has undoubtedly been a falling off
of trade at these springs, and it is probably a move on the part of
the sponsors to re-establish faith.
Fr. Flinn has been well advertised thru the public
press, and otherwise, and they probably felt that he would be the
