MINNEAPOLIS
OFFICES OF THE DEAN
March 9, 1934.
AND THE DIRECTOR
MAR-12 1934
Mr. H. H. Barker,
United States Radium Corporation,
535 Pearl Street,
New York, N. Y.
Dear Barker:
I have your letter of March 6 and am interested in
the recent legal developments in the "radium poisoning" cases.
I seem to remember the name LaPorte. Is she one of the original
five or a relative, or am I mistaken in recollecting this name
in that connection?
Of course, I am glad to assist you in attempting to
prove there was no fraud on the part of the company as that has
always been definitely my opinion. I see no reason why I could
not come to New York in the week beginning June 4. I suppose
this date may be changed to a later one at the convenience of
the court or lawyers.
If it should be changed, please let me know as soon as
possible. As it stands now, it is about as convenient as any date
during term time. Of course, if it were to be postponed until
August or September, I would have more leisure but I understand
that you cannot control these matters and aremore or less subject
to the judge's orders.
I am glad to hear that Dr. Schlundt will be able to
come and will look forward with pleasure to seeing both of you
again.
With best regards,
Sincerely yours,
P. C. Lind
S. C. Lind,
SCL:LL
Director.
