Mar. 15,1940 Dr. F. B. Flinn, DeLamar Institute of Public Health, 600 We 168th St. New York City. Dear Dr. Flinn: The 15 plates we are today sending you herewith are treated with a total of 5 milligrams radium. A preliminary measurement indicates that the radium is tightly bound, and that a large percentage of the alpha radiation is available. The plates were treated on March 12th, and con- sequently will not reach their peak value for several weeks. In packing, the plates have been placed in a container with the treated side up. We are also enclosing a bill for $350.00 which covers in part cost of materials used. We trust you will find these plates satisfactory, and that they will accomplish the work for which you intend them. Very truly yours, CWWallhausen;dk Chief Chemist enc. th.
