eight Jewish leaders who had been interned by the
British Government for failing to control acts of violence in Israel-
they were released on promise to disassociate themselves with the vio-
lence and to do all in their power to hale same==other Jews were also
released and curfews were all lifted in an effort to allow the leaders
chance to exercise control--the leaders released vere:Moshe Shertok;
Bernard Joseph; Itzhak Greenbaum; Davi^ Rewez;David Haochen;Davis Shing
revsky; Joseph Shoffman and Mordochai Shattmer
