Mark's Episcopal Church on the Bowery which is the oldest Church on
Manhattan Island=-escorted by Clergymen(who MAY Be Bishop Horace W.B.
Donegan, caption and spotsheet not clear)=-ls the Church--plaque,story
told of it being oldest,etc--statue of Peter Stuyvesant by whose pro-
clamation New Amsterdam (now New York) was incorporated as a Dutch city
in 1653--Clergyman and Prince Bernhard at base of statue, near plaque-.

(D)POMPEIL, ITALY: (2 scodigging for archaeological research--
brush away dirt from a calcified body,buried in volcanic ash for 2000
years--CU head of body=-tourists, Vesuvius in bg==gal crosses on steppin
stones due to torrential rains recently--Pompeii's "Broadway", shops,
cafes, look at message on wall (election poster) - -narrow
street, for people only--palatial seashore villa-e-(NOTE:all this was
uncovered in Archaeological research,entire resort
was
almost
perfectly
preserved, including paintings,etc, in the volcanic ash by
eruption
