Curtiss Carmvan,cargo ship built for AAF,was
nicknamed "Woodpecker's Haven"because she is constructed of plywood
to
save metal--has 6 hrs.range at 135 MPH and not intended for overseas
use but for ferrying cargo between stateside bases--taxiing off line--
take off--in air--landing--taxi in for unloading at unnamed freight
station--opening nose doors--unload cargo--interiors--ls--cu pilot &
crew in dome
(Field is Warner Robins Field in Macon,Ga)
