off the prop"feathered"--locked in fixed position-until the fighter's
jet powerplant takes it almost 4 mi.up--then initial turboprop"lighe-
off"is made prop whirls--this is interservice teamwork in aviation
development with tests of XF-88B by USAF with cooperati on of USN Bur.

test pilot,Phil Houghton,flies plane JATO tests by
