I just want to let folks know that I spoke with Henry last night regarding
this situation. At this point, I believe he is OK and no longer planning
to boycott or protest this meeting. He has 16 tribal leaders that wanted
a separate meeting with the VP. He understands that timing doesn't allow
for it, that the tribes will be represented at the discussion, we offered
to have him include a third tribal leader on the panel if he wished, and
we offered him a meeting with Katie McGinty and Terry Garcia (Asst S
ecretary of Commerce, NOAA) on Sunday morning to meet with his folks.
I
am planning to follow up with him today to ensure that this is still
acceptable to him, and to confirm the sunday morning meeting. Please let
me know if you continue to hear blow back. Thanks.
