Dr. Montgomery wrote a book, Target: Prime Time, which is a key\nwork on the relationships between advocacy groups and network entertainment television.\nMyers, Jack-\nJack Myers is Chairman and CEO of Television Programming Partners.\nNye, Bill-\nBill Nye is the host and head writer of the hit children's TV series \"Disney Presents Bill\nNye the Science Guy.\" In three seasons the show has been awarded two 1996 Daytime Emmy\nAwards, two Silver Apple Awards, three Parent's Choice Awards (1993, 1994, 1995), an\nEnvironmental Media Award, and a National Education Association Award. Nye's own science\ncareer is also off to a start, as he was just issued a patent for his collapsible, water-filled\nmagnifying glass.\nNye's show got started with funding from the National Science Foundation and now has\nfunding from Buena Vista Television (Disney) and and the Seattle public television station. Here\nin DC it is carried at 6 a.m. on channel 50 (Warner Brothers) and on two public television\nstations. Nye can speak well about the issue of why educational programs don't get good ratings.\nHe could explain that in those markets where the program is on regularly, is not routinely\npreempted (by, for example, sports broadcasts), and is promoted by the station, the ratings are\nsubstantially higher than they are in markets where these efforts are not made.\nPerry, Jennifer-\nJennifer Perry is the Executive Director of the Children's Action Network (CAN). CAN\nserves as the entertainment industry's voice for children. It informs the public about the needs. of\nchildren by mobilizing the Hollywood community and marshalling the immense power of TV\nand film. CAN has also been involved with a number of major campaigns to improve the\nwelfare of children. Perry has co-produced several special programs including, \"Through our\nEyes,\" an award- winning video on the changing American family, and \"Listen Up: Young\nVoices For Change,\" a KCBS television special in response to the April 1992 unrest in Los\nAngeles county.\nPhillips, Robert-\nDr. Robert Phillips is Deputy Medical Director of the American Psychiatric Association\nand serves as Director of the APA Offices of Psychiatric Services and Minority and National\nAffairs. He has done work with the Justice Department, the National Institute of Mental Health\nand the Center for Mental Health Services. In May 1993 he was selected as a distinguished\nPsychiatric Lecturer of the American Psychiatric Association.\nPoussaint, Alvin-\nAlvin Poussaint is currently a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Faculty Associate\nDean for Student Affairs at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Poussaint is also the Director of the\nMedia Center for Children at the Judge Baker Children's Center in Boston. Poussaint is a\n8"
