Dear Ms. Caputo:
I want to thank you for providing Alicia Talanian a challenging and
rewarding experience this summer. I know that she has greatly enjoyed
and profited from the internship your office provided.
Our program maintains a continuing file for each intern. As part of
that file, I would appreciate having a letter from you evaluating our
intern's work this summer. I've enclosed a form you can use, or if you
prefer to write a regular letter, that would be fine. (If an associate was a
more direct supervisor of the intern, could I ask that you give him/her the
form?)
This evaluation will be read by me; it will also be available to the
intern. Your candid comments will help Wellesley improve our program,
while also providing an assessment of this intern's performance.
Wellesley will begin selecting next summer's interns early in the new
academic year. If there is a candidate with the appropriate interests and
qualifications, I hope that we may contact you again about a possible
placement in your office.

Thank you for making my week in the First Lady's Press Office enjoyable. It was exciting
to watch and participate in the daily office activities of the office, and I learned a lot. The
First Lady's Staff is friendly and exciting to work with. The White House is an outstanding
place to work, and I would like to return as an intern in the future.
