Dear Jennifer,
It was a pleasure meeting you at lunch on Thursday. As promised, I've
enclosed several books. The copies of Pregnancy and Your Baby's First Year,
Toddlers and Preschoolers, and Your School-Age Child are for you. Please pass
the copy of Making Sense of Your Teenager on to Hillary Clinton along with
the attached note.
Your thoughts about becoming a clinical ethicist in a health care setting
were intriguing. It's a fascinating field, and one which is sure to grow in
both size and importance over the next fifty years. If I wind up as director
of the Ethical Culture Fieldston Schools, we'll have to work out a way to
get you involved with the schools' ethics program.
Meanwhile, if there's any way I can be of service to the administration on
issues related to children, families and/or health communications, please
feel free to contact me. And if you run across any information about the
story behind the so-called White House cufflinks-or can get your hands
on a pair of them-please let me know. When I spoke to one of the Secret
Service agents, he said that he'd also heard about the story, but didn't
know what it was.
All the best,
Lory
