The service also provides free living wills and donor cards as a public service. In February we sent Mrs. Clinton, a copy of the enclosed letter which explains our company and its goals. We received a reply from Patti Solis, Special Assistant to the President, Director of Scheduling for the First Lady, but to date, have not scheduled a meeting. I am enclosing copies of addition information that I believe will be helpful. Our product is about to be distributed nationally by the major credit card companies and has been endorsed by numerous emergency and healthcare providers as the system that can actually provide a benefit immediately. This systems provides benefits to individuals, hospitals, insurance companies, healthcare providers, HMO's and the general public in the following manner: 1) Better and more efficient treatment 2) Lower cost by eliminating multiple tests 3) Easier and faster diagnosis 4) Immediate interaction for managed care 5) Children can be identified and treated with authorization 6) Older patients are never alone in a crisis 7) Living Wills electronically transmitted to scene and hospital 8) Accessible records to EMS 9) Insurance carrier immediately notified 10) Members have peace of mind The National Center for Health Statistics have indicated that in 1991 there was a total of 2,169,518 deaths and of those 1,563,527 were of seniors over 65 or 72%. A recent study in the Archives of Internal Medicine based on the records of Medicare patients, indicates that patients with living wills save, on an average, $60,000 each in their last illness. The problem with living wills is that they are not at hand or easily produced at the time of immediate need. Linc American solves that problem by providing the wills and then producing them instantly on demand. If only 10% of the senior population had living wills under our program, the saving in healthcare costs would exceed 9.3 billion annually.
