Dear Mrs. Cutler:
On behalf of the Grand Ronde Tribal Council, we would like to extend our deepest appreciation
for the time you spent with us during a meeting this March. In addition, we would like to thank
you for speaking before the National Congress of American Indians general assembly. We realize
that in your position time is of the essence, and the fact that you would direct so much of your
time and energy is really a reflection of your dedication to Native American issues.
In our discussion, we had mentioned that the Tribe is a major sponsor of this years National
Association of Counties (NACO '98). As you know, the Tribe takes great pride in working with
our local communities. We strive to make ourselves leaders in the area of intergovernmental
relations, and hope that we can serve as an example not only in the state of Oregon, but
throughout the country as well. This is why we feel that NACO '98 is such a worthwhile event.
With the NACO '98 conference being held in Portland, Oregon scheduled for July 17-21, 1998,
we would like to once again extend an invitation for you to come and see our progress in Grand
Ronde.
Thank you again for all your efforts in regards to Native American issues, and the time that you
have given to all tribes. We look forward to seeing you soon, hopefully in the wonderful state of
Oregon.
Best regards,
Kathryn Harrison
