Tom Maulson PRESIDENT Dear Ladies and Gentlemen: The purpose of this letter is to introduce you to Simpson Electric, a wholly-owned enterprise of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. The Lac du Flambeau Reservation is approximately 144 square miles and is located in the beautiful lake regions of Northern Wisconsin. The goals of my people include the preservation of our environment and heritage, the economic welfare of all tribal members, particularly our elders, and improved educational facilities and opportunities for our young people and the future generations to come. In order to achieve these goals, our tribe has embarked on several initiatives over the years, including a new state-of-the-art fish hatchery opened recently to preserve and maintain the quality of the aquatic resources on our reservation and the surrounding area. Five years ago the tribe opened the new Lake of the Torches Casino and Conference Center along with a 100-room hotel which has proven to be very successful and has provided hundreds of jobs as well as economic benefit to the tribe. In 1985 the tribe purchased Simpson Electric Company, a world-renowned manufacturer of test measurement and control equipment. The headquarters for Simpson Electric Company are in Elgin, Illinois, and a plastic molding plant and instrument manufacturing plant operate on the Lac du Flambeau reservation. Simpson has played an important role in the history of the Lac du Flambeau area and has provided jobs for both tribal and non-tribal members for the last fifty years. I have asked our president of Simpson Electric to include and introductory letter in this packet and also a sampling of the many products that Simpson Electric offers to industries throughout the world. My people are very proud of what they have achieved in the past several years and are proud of Simpson Electric Company. We invite you to look further into the products and services offered by Simpson and also extend an open invitation to visit Lac du Flambeau and Simpson Electric Company. Sincerely, Marl Tom Maulson, Chairman Lac du Flambeau Lac du Flambeau Band Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians P.O.
