Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the White House Intern Program. We all share your enthusiasm for the
Clinton Administration and recognize the importance of the President's call for active participation in
government. The White House Intern Program is one of the best opportunities available for you to see
the workings of the Executive Branch of government.
Enclosed you will find the application packet including instructions on how to apply and other relevant
materials explaining the program and its.requirements.
Your completed application must be postmarked by the deadline for the session for which you are
applying. Please read the requirements page carefully for detailed information about 1999 deadlines.
There are several things you may want to consider when choosing the session for which you would like
to apply. The fall and spring sessions generally allow interns to assume a more substantive role in their
assigned offices due to the longer length of stay. The summer sessions have the most applicants and
are therefore the most competitive sessions of the White House Intern Program. Please keep in mind
that we ask for a time committment of at least 3 days and 25 hours per week during the fall and spring
sessions, whereas summer internships are full time.
