5-07-1996 8:04AM FROM PUBLIC POLICY 415 487 3089 P. 1 SF AIDS MEMORANDUM FOUNDATION To: Marsha Scott, Deputy Assistant to the Date: May 6, 1996 President for Political Affairs From: Policy Regina Aragón, Deputy Director for Public Regma RE: Potential CAEAR Coalition Invitees to CARE Reauthorization Signing Congratulations on a stunning victory in Congress last week. First the elimination of the DOD ban, then the added boost for CARE in the FY 96 appropriations bill, and finally, reauthorization. I guess this should last us a little while As planning for the CARE signing ceremony gets underway, I am forwarding the attached list of CAEAR Coalition members who were actively involved in the Congressional campaigns (in 1994 and/or 1995/96). My hope is that these local leaders will be invited to participate in this historic event. The first is a list of CAEAR Coalition Executive Committee members; the second includes a larger list of CAEAR liaisons from across the country. Many of the individuals on this larger list play a substantial role in their Title I community's HIV Services Planning Council and all were actively involved in efforts to win bi-partisan support for reauthorization. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Group ] I:\SIGNING.DOC Page of I
