OCEAN CURRENTS
striking the earth all of a sudden, that
they would sprawl out and become
flatter than a darkey's nose. And
then on the other hand it seems as
though if their dwelling place was in
the earth below, but come to the sur-
face just to see what it was raining
for, that they would be found by
miners or others digging down into
the earth.
Some claim that these animals are
drawn from ponds of water into the
clouds through waterspouts. If that
is true, or if they are born and bred
in the clouds, or whether waterspouts
take up or let down water, it follows
just the same, that there are clouds
that carry large quantities of water.
Now if this is correct, perhaps it
ould not be impossible to manufact-
ure air boats of the same material.
I am well aware that this idea will
not at first (and perhaps not at last)
