To major Saul Macount. Detroit August 37 1832. General bu the day after the arrival of the Secretary of war in this city I wrote to you at his request. to inform you of the condition of the hoops in this circuity 2 of ane measures which had been taken writte respect to them. The Lecretary, being much indis- posed has requested me to write again in continuation Gent scotts despatches to the war Department will have of the state of that part of his command which had reached Chicago up to the 282 ult; and that he was when in Love uncertainty as to his further movements. These have been in all perba. bility materially influenced S inhalligence of the further operations of the face under Gent Athinson's correction intelligence which he could not have received at the time he wrote, but which has reached this place from a source which thoughoust official may be relied our capt Plympton writes from Fort Minuebago to an office sh Fort Howard Geen Bay, that the mounted force under Geal.
