know all men by these Presents that I Ann Merriken widow of the pate Joseph Merrihen late of Baltimore in the state of Maryland deceased, have constitute and ap- pointed and of these Presents do constitute and appoint my friend Alexander Marr of the city aforcard my true /certain and lawful Attorney for me and in my name to ash and receive from the Knoker department or authority of the Government of the United States all and eng such sum or sums of money to which I am or may be entitled as a pension in in consideration occasioned of the death of my husband joseph Merritien while performing military only in the year one thousand cight hundred and fourteen. In testi- money whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of Jan. one her thousand ght hunder red and eighteen in presence vesence of signed 84 sealed Ann + Merritien mark lowd Hinhley Baltimore County fe.
